Student Stories | Francesca Evans

Course: BA (Hons) Fashion Design
Year: 1st
I find the Fashion Design course creative, thought provoking, challenging but at the same time very rewarding. The course covers numerous topics including men’s wear, woman’s wear, knit and illustration. We also have the chance to work with the Fashion Promotion students on the organisation and running of photo shoots and also visual merchandising opportunities.
I chose to study this course, as I have always had a love of fashion and design and this course provides a path for me to fulfil my dreams. Glamorgan attracted me as it has a good reputation for the arts, with the bonus of it being based in the heart of Cardiff, a great city with social scenes, shops and plenty of career opportunities.
My time at Glamorgan has been a real learning curve, learning so much in just one year, with the support of staff who are so friendly and eager to help. The ATRiuM has great facilities and the fashion work room is well designed with our own working space and stand. All of the equipment is brand new and of industry standard.
It has been a great year- I have met so many friends and I’m looking forward to the rest of my course immensely.
