What attracted you to studying at Glamorgan?
Feeling that I had reached the full potential of my media job back home, I decided that I wanted to further my studies and improve my English. I saw an advert for Glamorgan University in Portugal and after looking on the website and requesting more information I decided to apply for the undergraduate course.
What do you think about the postgraduate course that you are studying at Glamorgan?
The course has given me the opportunity to work with highly respected professionals, who have been happy in helping me widen my knowledge, skills and internationalisation in addition to enhancing my experiences gained from my undergraduate studies.
Why did you choose this subject?
Personally I think all journalists should be investigative, as the skills and techniques learnt on the course will allow me to stand out in such a competitive industry. I also feel by adding a recognised British degree to my qualifications I will have gained a wider international view on any subject increasing my future career opportunities.
What was your learning and experience at Glamorgan like?
My learning and experiences at Glamorgan have been great. The support from the staff at the LRC Education Drop-In Centre has played a vital part throughout my studies, helping with my academic writing skills and my formal English.
How have your studies at Glamorgan helped you achieve your career goals?
The media facilities at the ATRiuM have been an excellent in way of training and familiarising me with the industry’s tools and standards. My work experience at BBC Wales is a good example of the opportunities that come with studying at Glamorgan. Proving to be a very useful and informative placement, I was able to interact with journalist; presenters and other professionals who gave me much appreciated valuable advice.
What other valuable skills or experiences do you think you have gained from studying at Glamorgan?
Studying at Glamorgan has allowed me to adapt to a multi cultural environment, through meeting and making friends from different countries, cultures and backgrounds I feel I have developed into a well rounded individual.
Would you recommend this course?
I would highly recommend this course due to its perfect combination of practical and theory based workloads. The theory gives you a base and all the background knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations that apply to journalism. Where as the practical aspect of the course gives the impression of being in a real newsroom atmosphere with all the stages and development of a live news story as it unfolds.
