To study Drama and Performance is to explore the varied processes, conventions and principles and practices through which humanity investigates, represents, communicates and understands its position in the world.

From the technical and creative skills required for Television and Film Set Design to the theory and practice of Drama and the variety of mediums involved in the modern study of Performance and Media, courses within the Drama division will equip you with a balance of practical and theoretical work to enable you to pursue a career within the arts industry.

Within the division our teaching staff have both industry experience a strong academic research profile. A range of extra-curricular activities including public productions, student festivals and our campus radio station supports your study and will assist you in building up industry relevant experience.

Studying at the ATRiuM you will have the opportunity work in fully equipped drama studios, TV studios and our purpose built radio station.

Cardiff has a rapidly developing Film and Television industry and also benefits from established theatres and performance spaces that range from the grand Wales Millenium Centre and traditional New Theatre to the more independent Chapter Arts Centre and the Sherman – all offering the opportunity to experience a range of theatre and performance.
